After growing up around the world, I quickly realized that adaptability would be a huge asset. Being able to come into a new environment and find a way to relate to those around me was only the beginning. Those lessons are the same ones I use today to relate to my students no matter their background or level of experience.
I have been working in the wellness field for the last decade.

I earned my degree in recreation programming from Hampton University. Soon after breaking into the fitness industry as a personal trainer, I created my brand, Sequel Life. It is based on the foundation that we all deserve a second chance at our BEST life, our Sequel Life. Over the next few years I quickly acquired several certifications including personal training, PiYo, Yoga (E-RYT 200), and paddle board (SUP) yoga. This allows me to work with practitioners of all ages and experiences levels.  I am currently a registered 500 hour yoga instructor (RYT 500).

This yoga journey of mine began back in the summer of 2012 in Orlando, FL.  I found myself at an early 6:45am class in a hot studio. Oh and lucky me, the class involved using dumb bells! Fortunately a very knowledgeable and patient Instructor named Alex was guiding our practice. I still look forward to her classes today, but with out the dumb bells.
A month or so later I decided to dig a little deeper.  I found out about an inversion workshop that was coming up.  I had no idea what this meant but I heard the teacher was really good and that I could learn a lot, so I signed up.  Not only were they right but that experience got me hooked on yoga! The energy in the packed “mat to mat” room, the 2 hours of constant information, and the self worth I felt when I left were undeniable.  At the end I quickly rushed to thank this stranger for giving me an experience that I new had just changed my life.  I said , “Hi my name is Brendon, its nice to meet you. Thank you so much for being here!” She replied, “My name is Rachel and you’re welcome.” Of course I asked for a picture to document the moment. I went home and began to research my new teacher, Rachel Brathen.  I would go to a few more of her workshops over the next year and even took HER to a favorite studio of mine during a visit. Practicing next to my teacher was a very different, very cool experience.

A year later I began assisting a local community yoga class. What an amazing experience that was!  We would have several hundred people in class on any given Sunday. It was there that I developed my love for connecting and teaching. Currently I lead corporate classes and assist with local teacher trainings. In addition, I've recently taught at UCF (University of Central Florida), spent the summer teaching high school athletes, worked with special populations, and led a 200-hour training session for aspiring yoga teachers.

I have a passion for teaching mindfulness and the practice of yoga. I have contributed wellness articles to several international publications. Thru self-study, I have had the opportunity to learn from world-renowned teachers including Amy Ippoliti, Colleen Saidman, Gina Caputo, Jason Crandell, Kathryn Budig, Taylor Harkness, Rachel Brathen, Rodney Yee, Sadie Nardini, and Sean Corn to name a few. I teach yoga as a means to help people connect inward. I believe the lessons taught on the mat can be applied in many ways to our daily lives. The goal is to cultivate sustainable change. Change within people that will ultimately change the world.
